(2 Kings 12:4-15) "All that is left is deteriorating maintenance" is this your vehicle, machinery of your business, your home, computer, and it appears that the Lord's house, that was what happened exactamenteo in the days of Joash reigned. The cracks in the temple probably started very small and very thin, almost invisible to the naked eye. As time passed, neglect and abandonment that contributed to the thickness and length of those cracks neglected to take their course without any resistance.

Excuses about: "We have no money" "no time" "The walls are very old." The truth was that the house of God was cracked, and drawings (figuratively) an inscription would read: "Neglect". Even when Joash had given orders that restore damaged (v.5), spent nearly 23 years! Nobody had done anything! (v.6) "A best example of carelessness and neglect? I do not think, at least not recall any at this time.

We are the temple of the living God (1cor.6: 19), and "nothing escapes the eyes of the king of Israel" (Heb.4: 13) and has ordered that the temple be honored (1Cor.6: 20). The cracks represent those oversights in our lives that reflect a deteriorating interior. Outside, no one notices, the temple looks radiant, but inside the cracks that will disregard them longer, thicker, deeper and sooner or later will be shown abroad and to our shame at all.

Later than sooner, God's people stopped making excuses and put to work (v.7-10), combined their gifts and personal skills (v.11) They made a financial investment even (v.12) and did it faithfully (v.15). No doubt we must do something today ... better said already!

How long will take to repair our cracks?
